Lets Watch It: Monday, July 30th. All Day Every Day
Disney’s DNA is American . Within Disney’s DNA is some African. Don’t believe me, then watch the art documentary, Floyd Norman: An Animated Life, on the first African-American (which is just American to me, unless we’re gonna start referring to White people as White-Americans) animator who worked on films from Sleeping Beauty to the Jungle Book. Outside of Disney he got busy with Fat Albert and Scooby-Doo. But at 65 he was forced out of Disney (there had to be some drama or this would end up being a lame-ass doc), but at 80 he is still banging out art. See the journey for self.
