“There’s no place like home, There’s no place like home, There’s no place like home”, these words have been known to get a lil girl back to Kansas but if I were reciting them it would take me to NYC, but not just any part of the Big Apple, to the ‘Hood. To me, Home is the hood. The hood I’m referring to is the hood hood, not the rap hood. Its what the rest of the US loves to label as ghetto, but I see as beautiful. Because there are so many beautiful pieces that make up this landscape, and I want to enjoy it simultaneously, why not make it into a collage of the ghetto. This can be a mixed media piece sharing everything that makes the hood…all good.
