Lets Do It: Thursday, May 11th. All Day Baby!
St. Regis Hotel’s King Cole Bar. 2 E 55th St., (btwn Madison and 5th ave.) New York City, NY 10022
Toast Dalí with a Bloody Mary at the St. Regis Hotel’s King Cole Bar. During the 1960s and ’70s, Dalí — by then one of the most recognizable (and highest paid) painters on the planet — lived at the St. Regis during the fall and winter with his wife, Gala, and his pet ocelot. He held court under the Maxfield Parrish mural in the King Cole Bar. (The bar has since been moved, but the mural is still on display.) FYI: The Bloody Mary was invented at the bar.
